I started
drawing when I was 4 years old, and my first drawings were ALWAYS of horses.
My father had a creative bent and would pile us kids into the car and
take us on rides to see outrageous Victorian architecture. He also introduced
me to wonderful old films which were filled with character actors, such
as Edna May Oliver, Zasu Pitts, and Charles Laughton. My grandfather was
a patron of the arts and took us all over Europe to experience art firsthand.
